Start with the file.

editmd works with Markdown files on your Mac. They remain ordinary text that you can open in another editor. Keep backups of important work; recovery features are not a replacement for a backup.

A folder synced through a service you choose follows that service’s access and sharing settings.

Share deliberately.

AI is optional. In the Mac app, review the text and destination before sending a request. Your chosen provider’s terms, charges and retention apply. A local Ollama model can only answer questions about the open document, and that request stays on your Mac.

Keep the app and your files in view.

Save your work and back up important documents before replacing the app. Read the changelog and check the installed version after updating.
